Natural Remedies For Hair Loss
Progressive hair thinning is a very big issue, more than 85 million U.S. men and women experience it. Baldness is the final result.
The most common form of hair thinning is androgenic alopecia (aka androgenetic alopecia) of which the terms male-pattern baldness and female-pattern baldness are terms that are used.
Build-up of a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the scalp is what leads to male-pattern baldness . This chemical binds to the follicles of the hair lessening the the blood supply to the follicle. Over time the lessened nutrient flow to the follicle causes the hair shaft width to decrease. Once the follicle has shrunk and become too small the hair ceases to grow, remaining at a set length.
Prescription drugs such as Finasteride (aka Propecia) which claim to reduce DHT often have nasty side effects.
DHT can in fact be controlled even more effectively with the use of more natural products. Saw Palmetto, for example, is a very effective herbal DHT blocker. Zinc and pumpkin seed extract is effective at reducing the conversion of testosterone to DHT. Try herbal products that contain loads of nutrients to also help with better follicle growth.
